Why hello there! So happy you stopped to see us!

We’re Cory and Jen of This Year Photo Co. We both grew up a few miles away from one another, a year apart, and in the same school district but never really knew one another. Then, Jen reached out to Cory on My Space (yes…embarrassingly!), and we’ve literally been together ever since. We have two children -  our Conor is 13 and just started high school while Margaret is 5 and is a kindergarten newbie.

This Year Photo Co. was established formally back in 2017. But Cory has been honing his photography and videography skills for over a decade. He was trained as a professional videographer at the Art Institute, graduating back in 2008. In 2010 he picked up a camera, learned everything there was to know about said camera, and continues to refine his photo + video craft today. Cory is the “artsy fartsy” one, and his goal is to make sure your photos and videos look and feel dramatic/beautiful. He’s also a complete jokester and will make you feel at ease, even when you are under a seemingly crazy amount of stress. Jen is the business mind behind the business. She has been in the business realm for nearly 15 years and plays a more “behind the scenes” role here at TYPC. Jen keeps track of the financials, makes all the spreadsheets, and mostly just keeps Cory organized. She will make sure that he leaves the house with everything and will be at events to help with posing and lighting when needed.

We’ve been driving one another nuts for nearly 15 years and we have shared many, many ups and downs. We know how stressful life can be. Planning a wedding or portrait session can certainly be an added stressor. We want to make your event as stress-free as possible when you collaborate with us. That way you can enjoy your moments while they are happening + when you look at them later. We look forward to collaborating with you soon!
